    The primary role of the Process Engineer, Electronic Assembly is to develop the production process for Ecosense with our contract manufacturing (CM) partners. His expertise covers equipment selection, product design review and process setup. He drives new product introduction, works within the scope of multiple projects with specialization in electronic assembly. He understands the state of art in all manufacturing processes. He is a strong problem solver.

    The Position

    • Work closely with Ecosense’s CM partners. Drive the CM to setup the electronic and mechanical assembly processes; procure tools, jigs and fixtures for new and existing electronic assemblies; continuously improve the CM process to meet Ecosense’s expectations; help CM address production issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.
    • Perform CM audit and track the trend of internal and external quality. Evaluate internal or external defects; identify opportunities and drive for improvement.
    • Influence the company’s electronic product design during new product development and introduction. Help the project team maintain the proper balance between quality, cost and time-to-market. Actively participate in the design review. Use PDP, DFM, FEMA, Kaizen and other lean manufacturing tools to positively influence the outcome. Serve as the liaison between design and production.
    • Support the operation team for new product development from planning stage through mass production. Work on multiple priorities and always keeps good posture under pressure.
    • Review and approve engineering drawings, Bills of Material and component specifications utilizing domain expertise as required.
    • Help ES evaluate and select production automation equipment, including SMT, through-hole, hand soldering and other tools to reinforce existing production line for scaling the output. Undertake new technology assessments and development for future use.
    • Other duties related to process engineering and NPI.

    The Person

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering or 7+ years of working experience in a related field.
    • 3 years of professional experience in PCBA manufacturing. Deep knowledge of SMT, through-hole and other electronic assembly processes.
    • 2 years of professional experience in new product introduction, interfacing with new product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure smooth product start-ups in a factory environment.
    • Demonstrated success in hands-on problem solving in electronic product NPI and mass production.
    • Lean manufacturing environment experience preferred.
    • Experience working with CMs desired. Willing to travel to CM when needed.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to speak and write in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.
    • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
