    We are looking for a Chief of Staff (COS) to organize and drive projects, programs and operations in a matrixed, high-expectation environment.  The COS will report directly to the CEO, and, as the CEO’s proxy, will interact closely with the EcoSense leadership team to orchestrate the CEO’s vision and values and ensure product and project discipline and delivery.  This is a highly influential and visible role in a fast paced and highly complex environment that requires both tactical and strategic vision and solutions.

    The Position

    • Engage directly with EcoSense leadership and program teams across the organization aligning execution to goals, removing roadblocks, performing analysis, and gathering research to facilitate fast and frictionless decision making.
    • Increase interunit efficiencies and work with the CEO and other executive leaders to develop and orchestrate the CEO’s strategic agenda while adhering to EcoSense’s values and vision.
    • Run towards problems.
    • Act as the glue that holds together the EcoSense leadership team as an effective and cohesive unit focusing on our core values. Ensure that EcoSense is guided by beauty and freedom as we invent across many disciplines while remaining focused on profitability, meeting financial projections and sales goals.
    • Monitor entire product roadmap, identify and report potential scope creep, resource and personnel shortfalls, problems with schedule and release delays and budget overruns.
    • Implement quantitative and actionable accountability metrics.
    • Constantly evaluate and suggest re-order of product, operations and program priorities.
    • Identify key business capabilities and influence how we drive the advancement of them insisting on the “great” and best solution rather than the easy or good one.  Good is the enemy of great. 
    • Facilitate a strong and candid leadership team dynamic by creating an optimal environment for productive, professional dialogue.
    • As directed by the CEO, oversee ad-hoc, nascent or short-term critical projects until green-lit/hand off.
    • Responsible for centrally coordinating the CEO’s activities and ensuring the timely flow of information to and from CEO office.  Set meeting cadence and agendas.
    • Evaluate, identify and implement strategies to maximize CEO’s productivity and impact.
    • Represent and partner with the CEO on roadshows, corporate meetings, board meetings, and committees as needed.
    • Pursue and make sure others in the organization pursue the unknown and work to enable teams to accomplish what is considered impossible. 
    • From time to time, review and negotiate key contractual elements, including but not limited to, payment provisions, delivery schedules price, intellectual property, and terms and conditions.

    The Person

    • At least 7 years’ experience working directly with C-Suite/VP level leaders driving complex operations, projects and programs to successful results.
    • Must be a polymath equally comfortable working with engineers to solve a product development program or with finance and marketing teams to solve business problems. 
    • World class written and oral communication ability.
    • Must be an expert counselor and facilitator with strong organizational and leadership skills.
    • Strong technical acumen and experience executing technology initiatives, programs and products. Startup experience preferred.
    • Strategic thinker, data-driven and analytical. Ability to perform in a very fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated experience and clear enthusiasm diving into any area of the business or product.
    • Ability to quickly identify changing priorities and influence strong personalities to pivot.
    • Understanding of logistics, supply-chain and manufacturing functions preferred but not required.
    • Must have a deep financial acumen.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.  MBA strongly preferred.
