We are seeking an Planner Buyer to support the company's global planning and purchasing strategy that enables world-class launch of new products with unprecedented time to market and customer fulfillment turnaround times. The qualified individual will be responsible for tracking ongoing statuses and costs for sourcing, BOM, and tooling development as well as providing operations schedules at program team meetings. This key contributor will be the go-to individual for all raw material statuses. Working in conjunction with Operations Management and program team members, the NPI Operations Planner Buyer is responsible for issuing supplier purchase orders, tracking delivery schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of materials needed for each phase of NPI launch and initial Mass Production customer orders delivery.

Primary Duties:

  • Create a Master Sourcing Plan for designated NPI products that includes tooling lead times, materials lead times, manufacturing lead times, and delivery transit times
  • Work with the Sourcing team to quote all parts, assemblies, and products needed for NPI product launch
  • Work with the Logistics team to ensure timely deliveries of all materials to production location while minimizing the need for air freight charges
  • On an as needed basis, research and source critical components in the distribution market to fill shortages to prevent delays in NPI and customer order schedules.
  • Communicates design changes to suppliers and adjusts plan for costs and lead times.
  • NetSuite setup and maintenance for new part numbers
  • Issues supplier POs; NPI components, spot buy, NPI orders, and custom orders
  • Coordinates with NPI team and production location to adjust production schedules as needed to meet NPI schedule and customer needs.
  • Perform supply analysis for the first 3 months of mass production for each product to ensure materials are received in time for mass production launch
  • Work with Contract Manufacturer partners to ensure new BOMs, supplier approved vendor lists, costs and lead times are loaded into their system.
  • Work with Contract Manufacturer partners to ensure SKUs are set up with proper costs
  • Work with Contract Manufacturer partners to receive and transfer DVT phase, PVT phase, and first 3 months of Mass Production materials and Open Purchase Orders.
  • Perform inventory analysis for ECO dispositions, E&O analysis, and provide disposition guidance to Contract Manufacturer partners




  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline
  • Microsoft Excel - Mid level experience required
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems, NetSuite experience preferred
  • Previous planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes preferred
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Ability to speak Cantonese or Mandarin preferred
